I should have known....

You passed away, life went on
Almost nine years, have gone.

My son is grown, has a mind of his own,
He wants to be a racer.....that's the only passion he's shown.

And when I see him, speeding away at the track
I wish you were there, to pat his back
for, I am sure, you would be floored,
if you saw him, doing the very thing you adored!

Your love for speed was undeniable,
and it lives in my son, isn't that remarkable?

Birthdays are for having fun, for getting bouquets of flowers and getting everything nice under the sun, with music and melody, laughter and good cheer,

and all about remembering childhood days of cutting cakes, lovely new dresses and treating friends

It is a good time to go through old albums and relive the wonderful birthdays gone by ........

To recall mom's loving hugs and kisses and daddy's wonderful presents

The memory of the special meal that mom would make with all your favourite dishes just makes you wish you were a small girl once more.

There is something about Birthdays that leaves everyone feeling mushy, sometimes you miss that special someone and sometimes you miss your folks so much

But most of all Birthdays just make us want to feel Special in every possible way .......

So if you have everyone close to you as you blow out the candles from your cake, know this that you are lucky

Everyone wishes you a Happy Birthday on your big day but very few people have " Happy Birthdays" so to say

Christmas is all about cookies and cakes and all about forgiving and giving

The lovely wreaths on the door, look beautiful and inviting

The shining North star,

the sound of carols coming from afar..........

The angels and trumpets on the Christmas tree

all ..... remind us of the Christmas history

That something special we celebrate year after year

is the birth of JESUS our Saviour.

The bliss of sending Christmas cards to everyone

just add to the charm of this wonderful season

And as the kids start counting days for Santa to come

You know the Christmas countdown has begun

I believe in miracles

It had almost become a habit for the past few years

that each Sunday I'd wake up, with a will to goto church

but would inevitably get caught in the routine of day to day life

there would always be something to hold me back to set foot out

but yesterday, it was very different.

I guess it was nothing less than Divine intervention

I woke up at the usual time and went about my usual routine

debating, whether I should or shouldn't go

But there was something that day that kept on prodding

and didn't let me laze around, wasting time till it was too late to go.

I went and spent time at the old building, reminiscing about the one

I had gone to as a little girl .

I sat there thinking about my life

about what this particular Sunday would turn out to be

I was happy to have attended the service

and I wanted this day to be special

but I knew I had to get back home and get back to my boring routine

so I prayed to God to do something which would bring some joy in my life

and to my pleasant surprise he had done just that

for I met this lady who I hold very close to my heart in God's own house

I rarely experience such extraordinary events

so I am thrilled at my good fortune and know that God is kind

I have spent years thinking him to be unfair but today I am aware

there is something beautiful planned for me

I need to fear no more, no more be sad for not having done anything extraordinary

I had a lot of promise as a young girl but somewhere....down the line I got distracted

I am out of it today and I hope I am able to live my mom's dream today

Every couple has their share of ups and downs
Some make it through the bad times, some don't
When there are kids to think of,
the decision is tough
for whatever you decide, their interest must come first
Some feel the kids must not feel the heat of the strained relationship
so it is best to part ways and keep a cordial friendship
Even I thought that was a wise decision
for I was sure, kids too don't like the tension
till I had a chat with my seven year old
and guess what, I was told
Mom and dad should be together .............happy or sad
and as long as they are together, he' ll be glad.

Songs by the broken hearted

So many beautiful songs have been written

by boys and girls who are absolutely smitten

with love for someone or the other

for whom their hearts always go aflutter

but I am often and always filled with wonder

whether those who get written about ever sit and ponder

upon who, the song could be about

they must have some clue, no doubt

I wonder what they do, when they discover

what do they feel for him or her

does it open their hearts towards the person

or do they just feel glad for the dedication?

Moving constantly

Marriage - means settling down

for me it has happened the other way round

'cause ever since I have got married

I have only and only got harried

Of moving constantly from one city to another

In search of a life that would be better than the other

From Hyderabad to Bangalore was the first trip

then back from Bangalore to Hyderabad was the second flip

The third trip was to Bangalore again

and now I'm off to Delhi on a plane

I hope this brings my nomadic life to an end

for, settling down is what I intend

Though today I must admit this

all the cities I've been to, I will surely miss

So goodbye to one and all

I'll keep in touch and I will call

With this promise off I go

or I'll want to write more and more........
